Volume 4 begins with a spring in its step with a bright eyed and bushy tailed rework of Empress' 1981 disco strut "Dyin' To Be Dancin". The Chic-esque groove is chopped into bitesize portions and casually looped, allowing each of the ace instrumental flourishes time to develop gradually as the track builds and builds into a towering stomp of sequined sass. Neat use of filtering and dubby vocal snippets add a touch of the power cosmic to proceedings while the club foot keeps you bouncing all night long. Flip the disc and jump aboard the disco train, you've got a one way ticket to peak time! The Squirrels take on the oft edited, ever reliable, all time classic "Love Hangover", dropping the slow and sleazey to get straight into that rolling groove. The killer guitar licks and jazzy keys work in harmony to get your hands skywards while the kick bumps away nicely underfoot. Filter, delay, echo, reverb, this mamacita's got the lot and is giving you the eye my friend. As the tension rises, so do those strings, ensuring a peaking response in every way !
