The original version of "Pay Me" appeared on the Cozmic House E.P. which highlighted some archive works from New Yorker Ben Cenac; a fine piece of archival research from Thug Records. Now the Australian label has enlisted two Italians with a sensitivity towards vintage sounds to turn out some high grade remixes. Simoncino has the A-side in rapture with a crisp, boogie-inflected jackhammer of an instrumental mix, before he gets into a slower, slinkier mode for the dub mix. Nicholas delivers a more techy approach for his remix, keeping the retro-romanticism intact and letting some of the vocal slip back in.
