In October, Gilbr's Vesatile imprint will release a collection of obscure French disco, boogie and synth wave jams put together by renowned Parisian crate digger Vidal Benjamin. Here, the label presents a second sampler, featuring re-edits of cuts on the comp. The real killer is Jean Marc Misere's Pure Beat Edit of Raymond Et Les Moutards' "Y'en A Marre", which turns the original into a locked-in chunk of dancefloor-friendly boogie underpinned by a superbly rubbery bassline. The A-side edit of "Gibraltar" by Marc Chantereau is pretty tasty, too, with the eccentric original - all whoops, loose disco and zany vocals - being given a well-judged dancefloor tweak.
