San Francisco based duo Sleight of Hands come extremely correct once again with a delicious scoop of ice-cream marbled vinyl. Sleight Of Hands, comprised of San Frandisco legend DJ M3 and NZ ex-pat Phil Collis, delivers two tracks of divine, Balearic space disco that will rock Café Del Mar in the morning or DC 10 at midnight. Side A contains “Dirty Cash,” a well-crafted remix tribute to Stevie V’s early ‘90s house gem. Stevie’s passionate song a about ill-gotten gains gets all wrapped up in a synthy, throbbing groove that’s equal parts Paradise Garage and one-car garage. It’s gorgeous and grimey all at once and there will be no parking on the dance floor when it plays. The flip contains the discoid delirium of “Steel Drums,” in which high velocity disco rhythms conspire with steel drum samples, drifting strings and emotive vocal samples to create a dreamily uplifting track that can funk and…drive.
