While apparently brand new, the four tracks featured on NYC duo Earth Boys' 1080p debut sound defiantly old. There is something of the Jovonn or Vil-N-X about the bumpin' house beats, sampled vocals and New Jersey garage touches on opener "BK Melody", while the speedier "Should B Wit U" fuses those classic influences with a chunkier groove and the kind of head-in-the-clouds chords you'd expect to find on an early '90s ambient house record. The duo reach for the rave-era house breakbeats and soft focus sax lines on the lilting "Spring Fling", while "Catch Flies" sounds like a particularly delicious trip into classic Chez Damier territory.
