Bass Cadet Records is excited to introduce its new series : Orbits. Originally established in 2012, the label also stands a little vinyl corner on Weserstrasse since june 2013, right in the middle of the always bubbling neighborhood of Berlin-Neukölln. Curated from the recordstore, the series is dedicated to the artists who support it and make its life. Leaning on strong ties of respect and friendship, Orbits will consist of a slew of releases featuring some of the most inspiring and influential artists of the electronic music scene. Orbits will start with a re-issue of two Ron Trent timeless jams out of his “Dance Classic” album, released on Prescription on CD only in 2009. The store crew takes the occasion of starting the series to bring the tracks to the vinyl format for the first time. On the A-side lies “Hooked On Your Love - 1984”, a gorgeously deep and soulful composition, one of which only the chicagoan genius has the secret. As the “Dance Classic” album is built as a tribute to the first era of dance music and club classics, the track is developing on a chilly old-school dance groove with rolling congas and percussions, on which a lustful bassline plays with piano keys, heavenly synths chords and a sweetly intoxicating female voice. On the flip, “Welcome - 1982” delivers its lush pads and jazz-funk solos on a syncopated bassline and a stripped down boogie drum track. As always, with these two tracks Ron Trent masters the underground art of deep, bringing the vibe to a next level of craft...
