thatmanmonkz graces Classic with his psychedelically grooving ‘Ooh Wee’ on 12”, this time enlisting SoulPhiction and Norm Talley on remixing duties. Remaining true to his Detroit house and 90s boom bap influences, the title track holds a soft analogue crackle and bass loops tied together with delicate keys and soul vocals by Nikki-O. SoulPhiction’s Nervös Mix is a production in two parts, leading with synth lines on deep and intense keys then ascending into disco glory. Detroit DJ Norm Talley takes a classic house approach with piano riffs and sharp hi-hats, adding another edge of genuine old skool sound to this release.
